About me

I'm James Hood, I've had a passion for technology ever since I was young, learning about SQL to host private game servers. I love all aspects of development from designing the solution, creating an MVP, testing, provisioning, and deploying. I'm a big fan design patterns, I find they help make complex problems much easier to understand. I have a strong understanding of SOLID principles and how they can make solutions more flexible and easier to maintain. I try to be technology agnostic, with a strong background in OOP and .NET. Did you know string.Empty once had a set;? haha

My approach is to use the right technology stack for the problem. I have experience developing both native Android and iOS mobile applications, as well as cross-platform solutions using React-native and Unity frameworks. These frameworks have allowed me to deliver high-quality, efficient, and scalable solutions time after time.

In addition, I have expertise in creating front-end websites using the latest JavaScript frameworks such as Nextjs, Angular, Vue, and React. Using all the latest CCS libaries, bootstrap, tailwind CSS and flex responsive design. I am also skilled in developing native Windows applications using Winforms, WPF, and Xamarin.

My experience extends beyond these areas, as I have also developed secure IDP servers and microservices, messaging services, CI Cloud, and development operations using various cloud providers such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, and Google Cloud.
